Scientific-research laboratory of computer geometry and quantum topology was created on March 01, 2017 at the department of computer topology and algebra of the Chelyabinsk State University Mathematics Department by merging two laboratories:
- Research Laboratory of Quantum Topology (was created under the leadership of V. G. Turaev in 2014 with the financial support of the grant of the Government of the Russian Federation № 14.Z50.31.0020 ) English version of the site: Laboratory of Quantum Topology
- The Laboratory of Computer Geometry of the Department of Computer Topology and Algebra (established in 2000 under leadership of S.V. Matveev as a part of the educational and research complex consisting of the Laboratory (ChelSU) and the Department of Algorithmic Topology of the Institute of Mathematics and Mechanics, Ural Branch of RAS)
The new laboratory continues research on quantum and low-dimensional topology, knot theory and other related areas.
The laboratory's staff consists of researchers from joint laboratories, and students and graduate students of the Mathematics Department are involved in research.
