Chelyabinsk Region is located in the Southern Urals in the center of Eurasia. Its length from north to south is almost 500 km. In the west is Bashkiria, in the east is the Kurgan Region, in the south is the Orenburg Region, in the north is the Sverdlovsk Region. In the southeast is the state border of the Russian Federation with Kazakhstan. The conventional border between Europe and Asia is drawn mainly along the Ural Mountains.
