Chelyabinsk State University’s International Cooperation Division was established by the Rector's Order of April 17, 1989. The creation of the Department of International Cooperation in 1994 was driven by the internationalization trends in higher education and the global challenges emerging in the fields of science and education. Experience gained through collaboration with leading universities worldwide made it possible to later create a development plan for CSU and a strategy for its transformation into a next-generation educational institution. This plan entailed, among other objectives, addressing such issues as ensuring accessibility of education, enhancing its quality, and exploring more effective methods of conducting the learning process.
The University’s international development is overseen by the Department of International Cooperation together with academic and administrative units. The Department comprises the International Cooperation Division, which is responsible for the recruitment, admission, and support of international students, as well as migration assistance for foreign nationals arriving at CSU.
