Registration

  1. Upon arrival in the Russian Federation, a foreign citizen must register at the place of residence within 7 days of crossing the border.
  2. Without migration registration, you can stay in the Russian Federation for 90 days (citizens of Ukraine and Belarus) / 30 days (citizens of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Armenia) / 15 days (citizens of Tajikistan) / 7 days (all other countries). Before the end of this period, a foreign citizen must register or leave the Russian Federation. Staying in the Russian Federation without registration is considered ILLEGAL.
  3. To register, a foreign citizen must provide the following documents to the Department of International Cooperation (4 Voroshilova Street, Room 168) on the day of arrival or the next business day:
  • passport;
  • migration card;
  • Residential Lease Agreement for the Student Dormitory of FSBEI HE “CSU”.

If a foreign citizen does not live in the student dormitory, the owner of the residential property is responsible for registering the foreign citizen.

If you cross the Russian border, your registration is canceled!!!

  1. In order to extend your registration, you must contact the Department of International Cooperation at least 10 business days before the end of your registration period.
  2. You must inform us of your departure in advance by email international@csu.ru / calling +7 351 799-72-16 / sending a message on VK.
  3. Report to the Department of International Cooperation the next business day if:
  • you are flying to another country (provide a copy of your ticket);
  • you are leaving for another city in the Russian Federation;
  • you are spending the night in a hotel/hostel in Chelyabinsk;
  • you have been in the hospital.

Visa extension

In order to extend a student visa, foreign students must submit the following documents to the Department of International Cooperation at least 45 business days before the visa expires:

  • passport with a valid visa;
  • migration card;
  • registration;
  • 3*4 photo (without glasses);
  • receipt for payment of the state fee (6,000 rubles);
  • study contract;
  • medical examination certificates;
  • fingerprint (green) card 

It is ILLEGAL to stay in the Russian Federation with an expired visa!

  • To extend your visa, you must provide all the documents in person and sign the application;
  • If you do not provide all the necessary documents for extending your student visa on time, you must leave the Russian Federation and apply for a new visa invitation;
  • If your passport expires in less than 6 months, your visa will not be extended. You must get a new passport first.

Medical care for foreign citizens

  1.  Medical care for foreign citizens is based on a voluntary medical insurance policy (ДМС) purchased at their own expenses. Every foreign citizen entering the territory of the Russian Federation must have a ДМС policy for the entire period of their stay in the Russian Federation (Federal Law No. 115 «On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation»; Federal Law No. 114 «On the Procedure for Leaving the Russian Federation and Entering the Russian Federation»).
  2. A ДМС policy allows making appointments in hospitals and receiving qualified medical care in the Russian Federation.
  3. Requirements for a ДМС policy:
  • insurance coverage – not less than 500,000 rubles
  • repatriation service must be included.

Medical examination and fingerprinting

In accordance with Federal Law No. 274 dated 01.07.2021, foreign citizens who have arrived in the Russian Federation for a period of more than 90 calendar days are required to undergo medical examination, fingerprinting, and photography within 30 days of entering the Russian Federation.

Do not need to undergo these procedures:

  1. citizens under the age of 6;
  2. citizens of Belarus;

To undergo a medical examination, please, visit the Omega Medical Center at 4 Stepana Razina Street. 

Opening hours: Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Required documents:

  • passport;
  • migration card;
  • registration.

The cost is 10,000 rubles.

Fingerprinting is carried out AFTER receiving the results of the medical examination at the Passport and Visa Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation at 41A Gagarin Street.

Required documents:

  • passport;
  • notarized translation of the passport;
  • migration card;
  • registration;
  • results of the medical examination;
  • 3,5*4,5 photo, 2 pieces (without glasses);
  • copies of the above documents.

The cost is 950 rubles.

Foreign citizens who evade medical examination are subject to administrative liability under Article 18.11.1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation, which involves fines of 25,000 to 50,000 rubles and possible administrative deportation from the Russian Federation.

Medical certificates are valid for 1 year. Foreign citizens are required to undergo a re-examination 30 days before their certificates expire.

Temporary Residence Permit (РВП), Temporary Residence Permit for Educational Purposes (РВПО), Residence Permit (ВНЖ)

During your studies, you can apply for permits for temporary or permanent residence in the Russian Federation:

  • Temporary residence permit (РВП);
  • Temporary residence permit for educational purposes (РВПО);
  • Residence permit (ВНЖ).

Students apply for these residence permits independently at 41A Gagarina Street.
